Summer Solstice 2001 at Stonehenge
Arrived on site (51° 10.689' N, 1° 49.514' W) at 03:30 BST June 21st. Sunrise at 04:55 BST. Left at 06:00 BST. Weather - clear, warm night with some light cloud at dawn. Mars visible, setting, at perigee. Venus visible, rising. Today is New Moon, with a total solar eclipse visible across Africa. Atmosphere - excellent, no trouble. More people than last year (possibly 10000) including drummers, pipers, fire eaters and jugglers.
